Hump Day Hype Link Up #3 – Getting Over the Hump This Week

Hump Day Hype Link Up

I do have to say that one of my favourite things about blogging is reading and “meeting” other bloggers.  I love that everyone blogs about such a variety of things and starting the Hump Day Hype Link up has opened my world up to heaps of new and wonderful blogs!  I love that everyone writes about what they are passionate about or what is going on in their lives and each and every one is so different.  It sounds so cliche but until I started blogging I never really knew what the fuss was about (insert huge belly laughs from long time bloggers) but it is so different to what I thought it would be and so much better.  Sometimes I have learnt points of view I have never thought of and I love the light hearted through to the really thought provoking.  I feel really privileged to share stories of pain, laughter, mum moments and most of all people’s journeys.  That is why this week’s featured blogger is one of my favourites!

Featured Blogger This Week!

You Know You’re Heavily Pregnant With Twins – Life on Wallace

One of the beautiful things about blogging is sharing your journey and Claire blogs about baking, parenting, life and her journey of being a family of 5 to being a family of 7 in the not too distant future!  If you know mums with twins then this article she has written really points out how you and everyone else in the world know you have 2 babies in there!  I am so looking forward to following more of her journey!  And another star writer this week that Fi from Mumma Morrison chose for her featured blogger was written by Hand Bag Mafia.  Brilliantly written piece off the back of some silly woman who I can’t even mention (she had enough screen time this week) talking about women with careers.  Really worth a read.

So what is getting me over the hump this week?  Well camping was cancelled last week due to the temperature being 43 degrees celsius.  Can you imagine being squished into a 4 bobux kids shoesperson tent with 2 extremely wriggly people,  a husband who overheats and me who needs a blanket in the middle of summer thrown in to those types of conditions?  Not likely.  But it still didn’t stop us having a lovely weekend in the pool!

  1. New Shoes.  I remember days when shoes and clothes were all about me.  Yes me.  Nowadays my wardrobe barely gets a look in!  The kids on the other hand always get priority in the clothes and shoe department.  We were invited to the Bobux Shoe launch of their Kids + range.  If you want kids to get excited then sending them to a rock climbing and trampolining centre is a sure win.  The kids had a ball but it was brilliant timing because little miss really needed some new shoes.  Shoes are important on little people and now she has some beautiful pink ones she doesn’t want to take off.  So if kids are happy this will keep them at bay at least until Saturday right?
  2. Family Time.  There will be lots of family time this week.  Husband will be away for 2 weeks which is actually the longest he has been away from the family before.  Cue wine and deep breathing exercises for me whilst I single parent and run around like a crazy person for that duration.  This weekend we will try and relax although husband will run around like a crazy person because he is in a big mountain bike race and that requires packing almost every tool and piece of equipment that currently takes up most of our garage and that means stress.
  3. deodrantMotion Sensor Deodorant.  I have been a big fan of the Rexona Roll On Deodorant for a while.  I find that it is far more effective than the spray and lasts longer.  Probably because it is totally clogging the shit out of the pores under my armpits so nothing can get out.  But that suits fine because I am so self-conscious when it comes to armpit patches.  I bought some this week not realising that I now have the new motion sensor deodorant.  I had no idea that deodorant had become so fancy and scientific!  This new technology led me to research that apparently when I apply this deodorant it leaves microcapsules under my arm pit.  As my armpits rub together during exercise it releases the capsules and I stay fresh.  I am amazed.  With the humidity this week I would say I need all the capsules I can get!  No sweaty armpit patches and friction micro balls doing their thing under my armpits has got to be a win over any hump in the week don’t you think?
  4. Change.  My husband and I have been on a HUGE journey of change for us and our family the last 2 years.  Lots of what ifs and possibilities and also lots of just thinking through ways to navigate that change.  This week it is all coming to a crossroad where we need to really start making some decisions instead of just thinking about it.  The rest of this week will start to see decisions having to be made about our future in terms of career, location etc.  It is exciting but also very daunting and scary.  But life is a journey to be lived and we can’t stress too much about the unknowns and what ifs.  If you follow the blog you will hear loads more about it I am sure!  Have you made big life changing decisions for your family?

So link up and be merry!  Check out loads of wonderful blogs below and comment and share!  The beauty of blogging I have found is the great support network.  We aren’t in competition, we are all about supporting each other.  Happy Hump Day beautiful people!  xxx

I often wonder about packing up and going on an adventure and living somewhere else but then I think of the ‘what if…’ and if we’re a bit old to be starting out again so I put my ideas to bed! Within saying that I packed up and moved here from Ireland many years ago, hahaha!

Well see you have done it once! It is all the what ifs about starting again and if you didn’t have kids it would be an easier decision.. agh…

It’s so true about the kids clothes! I’m still wearing things from 2 or 3 years ago, and they get a whole new wardrobe every season!
