Hump Day Hype Link Up #2 – Getting Over the Hump

Hump Day Hype Link Up

Fiona and I were so thrilled at the great response to the Hump Day Hype link up last week!  It was so great to see so many awesome bloggers and posts and have a chance to read so many!  I hope you also took some time to check in with some other awesome bloggers.  There was such a great range of content from family, food, little kids, emergency situations.  It was so great to see so many people link up.  If you are going to link you, get in there and check some other blogs out and comment!  The best way to make this great for everyone is for the community to get involved!  You just never know what other lovely people you might find!

Featured Blogger This Week!

Jacq Writes World – Making Your Child Emergency Ready.

Each week Fiona and I will pick our favourite blog for the week!  It was such a tough choice, I loved reading them all.  Drum roll…… My favourite this week was the beautiful Jacqu Writes World.  It stood out for me because I am exceptionally mindful at the moment about my kids being aware of what to do in an emergency.  Having an 8 and 4 year old they are more and more aware of how to handle situations if something was to go wrong so this was a good eye-opener for me to get onto it and she had a fabulous resource to do this.  Check over at Mumma Morrison for her favourite blogger this week

So what is getting me over the hump this week and getting me all hyped up:

  1. Mummy/daughter date.  I only get 1 day off a fortnight from work and this week we are going to Ballerina.  Because I am slow off the mark and because I never learn, I have spoken excitedly about this said event for the last week.  Of course, now the movie has been playing for over a month so when I search session times there is only one on at our local cinema at 5pm.  Everyone else has already been and seen the movie clearly.  So off we will go rather late in the day as now I just don’t have the heart to tell her to wait until it is on Netflix.  Kind of not the same.Date with daughter
  2. Being Judgemental.  Doing the rounds everywhere it seems is the note that was left up at the preschool about parents using their phones while picking up their kids.  Today while I was with my daughter I was in a situation where I judged someone. I had my reasons for doing so, I tried to rationalise it, think of all possible reasons or scenarios in my head but I always ended up coming back to the negative one.  I didn’t know this person but I made assumptions based on a scenario.  At the end of the day, I will never know whether I was right or wrong and I didn’t say something but it certainly got me thinking.  Lots of thoughts are filling my brain tonight.  I feel a new post coming on to get it all out!
  3. Friends and Wine.  This weekend will see us gathering our things and venturing overnight to a camp site.  I am looking forward to doing this with a very good friend who time is mostly spent in 10 minute intervals before and after school.  We always have a good gas bag when time allows, a laugh and of course a wine so I shall look forward to this muchly.
  4. friends and wineValentine’s Day.  If you follow me on social media you will see I am not the greatest fan of Valentine’s Day.  It is swamping my feeds and sending my Pinterest account into overdrive!  I wrote about it and my married version of the day and you can find it below in the link up. I am ignoring all the craft I should be doing with my kids, the heart shaped biscuits I should be making and the flowers I should be receiving.  Why?  Cause I choose to love all year round.  I am not too cynical I promise!

Now go check out as many awesome links below as you can and hope you get over the hump this week with sunshine and happiness!

I love the idea of camping with old friends – nothing quite like getting together for a good chat and laugh by the fire! I hope it is an amazing weekend! I also hope you had fun on your mummy/daughter date. Was Ballerina good? x

Yes it was good! She really enjoyed it! Always nice to have that one on one time. Camping cancelled with the ultra extreme weather! We decided better to postpone!

I’m constantly surprised at the judgements people pass on others parenting. Surely we are all trying to do our best! Thanks for hosting the link up!

I know. I find it odd that as a parent yourself and knowing how hard parenting can be we are the worst!!! Sure there are cases but yes we are trying to do our best and sometimes we are on the phone! Thanks for linking up!! I am currently making you a sign that answers everyone’s questions on your belly! xx

Ha ha ha… I nearly fell into the same movie trap a few weeks ago. Thanks to Google on my phone I don’t promise anything these days. My oldest has a memory of an elephant. Ba ha ha. Happy link up and hope you stay cool!

I feel your pain with the movie situation, I’m nearly always the last to see a movie but I have learnt never to promise anything movie viewings to the kids because it nearly always seems to backfire!!
Have fun on your weekend camping trip!

You would think I would have learnt by now right? I totally agree never promise anything until you are actually driving there!! We are not so excited about it being over 40 degrees while camping!
